Project Cruiser’s Life 06: Elizabeth Baggs + Alan Bradley on SV Vivacia

06. Interview with Elizabeth Baggs & Alan Bradley on SV Vivacia/USA.

Just before retirement, Elizabeth and Alan envisioned what they wanted to do and how they would want to live. They decided that cruising might be a great idea. Elisabeth had been a sailor when she was a young, racing in regattas as a teenager and was also a sailing instructor, and Alan was totally up for it. They left San Francisco for Mexico in 2011 and are loving it, both the country and the lifestyle of cruising. We met and interviewed the two on SV Vivacia in La Paz in June of 2016.

This is the sixth in a series of interviews with full time cruisers about their life, the reality of cruising, their experiences and dreams. When we started thinking about sailing around the world, we searched the internet for information on how it really is and we took every chance we got to talk to sailors and cruisers. While we were outfitting our boat in a marina in San Diego, we filmed our first interviews and continued after we cut the lines. The 11 questions frame what we wanted to know. We hope you find the information valuable and inspirational.
